There are a couple really good threads stickied to the top of the Help Section:
    https://www.quiltingboard.com/qb-help-center-f27/

My system is really locked down with virus blockers and such and I have a few other things going on, so some of the pictures didn't match what I saw.

For me the biggest problem was the file size. After I transfer my pictures from my camera to my computer, I use the camera software to rotate the pictures or crop them or other basic editing -- which is pretty much all that has.

Then I use this free but limited site to reduce the pictures, mostly because while limited it is easy and it doesn't set off my computer protections:
    https://www.reduceimages.com/

There I save them to my downloads file. Once in downloads I can post them here, or then I typically transfer them to my "quilt" directory under photos and name them.

Edit/PS: Usually there is something like "share" on the phones I've seen. I don't see well enough to use a smartphone so not much help.

The fastest way I know to transfer is to use your charging cable plug it into a USB port on your computer and then use your file manager to copy and paste your pictures into a folder of your choice. Then you can take that photo and upload it here using the 'go advanced" setting on your message reply and then use the 'manage attachment option. Find the picture in the file manage that comes up and then upload. very easy to upload a picture to her from your smart phone.

i'm impressed if I can figure out or find all the terms you used. I need a cup of tea before I start this odyssey.
    thanks.

It took me a couple of months of periodic trial and error and some frustrations getting my pictures posted.

It always helps if you have a young person around! It's funny, for years I was my mother's techy, now I just refer everything to my son.

You can email the pic to your self. The email programs may give you option of file size. I choose small. Go to the email and down load the pic to your picture folder.

There are other ways but this one is the easiest for me.

Purchase a photo stick.....they are great. They have one for your phone and your computer....so you won't loose your photos in a crash. It will also eliminate duplicate pictures it finds. This gadgets seeks out all photos on your computer and puts them on the jump drive automatically....same for hook up to your phone....they come in various gb sizes.

I send the photos to myself. I don't know how familiar you are with your phone, icons, etc. but here goes:
Open the photo. Double tap the photo to see share options. Tap on the email icon (looks like a horizontal triangle with little circles on the ends) and email function open. Put your email address in and send. In a few minuted you email will arrive with the photo attached. Good luck.
