I'm ready for the tree to be down on december 26th. Most years that's when it happens. Some years I just don't have the strength, lol, and it gets a reprieve until the 27th.

I usually take mine down before Jan 1. Most times the day after Christmas. I don't put it up until the week before Christmas.

The Feast of the Epiphany (Three Kings) is the "official" last day of Christmas, so it will stay up at least until then.

But, everything turns so dreary and beige when all the Christmas decorations come down, so it may stay up until the end of the month, this year. I am only a little embarrassed to say that my record is Easter... ;)

Maybe I should make a lot of Valentine's Day decorations to take the place of all the Christmas stuff. And Easter ones to replace those. Or maybe I should paint my house with something other than ivory and beige!!!!!

Mine comes down Christmas night. I just can't stand it when the gifts are gone. I want to return to normal.

You could leave it up all year and call it your Holiday tree. You may start a new trend. Maybe I would have one then if I did't have to ever take it down..

New year's Day, and it's on the street.

We save a piece of the trunk to burn for a Yule log the next year.

Don't tempt me, Beth. ;) My family already thinks I'm a little bit kookoo.

I like the idea of a Yule log, but it would be pretty tough to get that heavy steel trunk to burn.

If you have a real tree, it probably is best to get it taken down ASAP - it's become a fire hazard way before we want to admit it. Not to mention the mess. At least it smells good when you vacuum under it.
