how many have lost or their hours cut
#23
I havent had my hours cut, just my pay! Goes with being selfemployed.
I have cut my four employees hours though, 4-8 hours a week each. Like the one woman said, means they all still have a job, otherwise one of them would have been gone. It was the best I could do.

I retired June 2nd. Hubby has his own teeny tiny business and oldest Daughter and Son work with him, the whole company, I use to. Not making much money, enough to pay three salaries and Son's health insurance and of course taxes. Keeping overhead low is the key.

I've only worked 3 weeks so far this year. My retirement fund is almost gone already (mutual funds not the IRAs). I got a call yesterday about a possible 10 week assignment that pays about $2.00 an hour less than what I usually get as a temp and it's a lot farther away but what can you do? I hope I get it.

A little over a year ago a 10% of the people working at the hospital I work at lost their jobs. We were warned a month in advance it was happening but didn't know who would loose their jobs. That was a rough month. Strangely enough they cut from the top not the bottom. Most people were in management. We were top heavy. Us peons kept our jobs. I was changed from 5 eight hour days to 3 twelve hour days. I was just happy to have my job and benefits. The nice thing is with four days off I have more time to sew. I am blessed.

My DH still has his job but he is salary & had 4 paycuts last year! We are fine but hope no more cuts have to happen. Our youngest just got a job with a lot of overtime. He's been unemployed for close to 6 months. This is a whole new type of work, so it is good experience for him. Hope he likes it because he sure needs the money!!! I pray everyday foir this economy to turn around and jobs available again!
