Default Chicen Pincushion

I am looking for a pattern for those chicken pincushions, one is not made from patchwork pieces. Do any of you have a favorite pattern?

They are very easy to make---whether you fancy them up with crazy quilting, use small blocks or just use pretty fabric. You can also change up their appearance but adding different things for for tail and/or comb--a folded prairie point, a ruffled strip of fabric, lace, fancy yarn or even a real feather or two. I've seen them made with small--maybe 3" squares-- and large (10-12") for door stops or to keep stacks of paper together. You might have to change the stuffing for those and add some pebbles or something else heavy.
