I live on a farm right now, 5 acres of Gods brown earth. I know why lady bugs are important, why you should plant flowers around the edges of your vegetable garden, how long it takes to pressure cook 7 quarts of tomatoes and at what poundage, what wind coming out of the east means on a winter day, and what it means if the cows are laying down (wives tale?). I just can't figure out how to get rid of those pesky tomato worms. LOL

I grew up in the country on 10 acres, but we didn't farm. My grandparents did farm. Cotton, cows, pigs and chickens. We all loved going there. I now live in the country on 3 acres and my grandsons love coming to visit. They really enjoy getting into the "country" atmosphere, riding bikes down the country roads, playing ball in the pasture and just running wild and free. When they spend the night they love sitting on the porch and listening to the coyotes and checking out all the damage the wild hogs do to the pasture.

My father was a farmer, so I lived on a large farm and had the best childhood in the world!

We live on an 80 acres farm in the hills of central Virginia. We use to raise cows and hogs and we always had seveal horses. Since we are getting older we now only grow hay and gains and I miss all the livestock, especially my old horse.

We live on a 50 acrea farm now. We have 17 cows with 9 baby calves. So cute. I am 64 and have lived on a farm all my life. Nothing like wouldn't want to change it. I can vegetables from my garden. Have been sewing since I was 18. I went to work in a sewing factory after high school. Work in 3 different factories for a 20 years.
