I have been married 40 years and have 4 children. I gave up cooking a long time ago. I put my dues in.

Get a crock pot. Make a pot full of chili, spaghetti sauce (Prego, of course!), chicken soup. Have it for dinner one night, and whatever is leftover, freeze in containers suitable for you and your mom. That way, you don't have to cook every night, and everyone else can fend for themselves.

You are such a good thoughtful daughter. I would have the same prob as your mom if my girls lived here. The youngest (go figure) would work her little butt off to help me, where the oldest would just sit on hers!
I think your right. I would just cook for the two of you!

That was always the rules for me growing up and it has worked fine for my 6 kids. There is always peanut butter and cereal. If they get hungry enough, they'll learn how to open a can & use a microwave.

As for the dirty dishes--if they want me to cook, they'll wash the dishes. Hubby & I are good cooks so even guests will jump right on the cleaning part if we cook for them.

I'm the oldest... And my mom has told me that she thinks it's a good Idea I live on campus... she told me not to worry...

I'm getting ready to... it's just not right to cook for 4 and only two eat. my sister is a picky eater... but she has learned that I will not make two different meals...
