I haven't had any problems with mine I have trend security pro, It blocks everything and I have to get permission to allow anything to be installed or added. I've had trend for several years now. Best Buy had a special deal towards end of year and I only had to pay the shipping $4.99, no strings attached, nothing else to buy. Oldest Daughter got it also. You get 3 licenses, so then you can put it on 3 computers.

[quote=Seanette]You need a good anti-virus once you've managed to clean up the mess. AVG has a free version that I think works well.

An anti-virus will not take care of trojans . You can find a free version of Malware Bytes that will take care of that for you. I had the same thing happen and the IT man at work told me to get the Malware and it worked/s.

Do you have a microsoft based program? If so, go to their website and download some of their free software to get rid of viruses. A couple of years ago we got a nasty one and the free software took care of it. it took awhile to get it totally downloaded, but I did it. For the life of me I can't remember the name of the virus, but it was the one that makes you have 2 trillion popup ads and kept trying to get me to buy a repair program. Good luck- try the free before you spend the moola :) :) :)

Thats exactly the program I suggested!

I also have Spy Sweeper + Anti-Virus... we bought that at Best buy... and it does a darn good job but it doesn't get everything, not like Malware Bytes does. My computer savvy friend told me to get that.

Trend does scan for Trojan horse and is anti-virus, very good.

I just went to that site, Malware Bytes and they charge 24.95 for the full version, I couldn't believe it was free and it isn't.

You don't need the full version. I have the free version and it works just as well... my friend told me so... and he's a computer person... It is free...
