I cleaned my ironing table
Last year I made a custom ironing table made to fit snugly over a 6 foot long folding banquet table. I love it but don't want to go to the trouble of recovering it because my arthritis is flaring up at the moment. So I had an idea this morning......why not try the upholstery attachment on my rug scrubber to get it clean?
So I did it, and now it's drying in front of a fan. It's so clean and smells so much better. I should add that when it's up all my family members use it as just another horizontal surface to put their stuff on. And the three cats add their own charm. But if this works out I can get another year out of it before I need to think of recovering it. It's amazing how dirty they get, isn't it?

Well done! When I am working on pressing with starch or fusible, I cut a square of freezer paper and iron it to my ironing board. It keeps all the mess on the paper and I can peel it off when I’m done.

My ironing board if the first thing you see when you come in the back door. It is always up now,since I lost the hanger for it. (The wall had to be replastered and the hanger didn't get put back up.) I keep the board covered with a pretty cover most of the time when not in use. And I also have the board covered in freezer paper on the spot that gets used most for pressing small things. The freezer paper is replaceable (once a year or so) and the cover can be washed any time.
