    My mother and my grandmother used to make these all the time and yes, they are delicious!!!! And yes, they disappear like magic. Mom had a shortcut for the crust though, she used canned biscuits, rolled them out flat and crimped, and since Little Granny canned EVERYTHING!!! She always used canned apples. Great memories attached to those pies. The family would stand around the stove, watching them cook, waiting for the first batch to come out of the fryer, wouldn't wait till they cooled down even!!!
