I think I am in trouble, my daughter (8) has decided that sewing is fun and is now squeezing in a few minutes of sewing on her kid version of the log cabin (imagine very very wonky with bright colors in a random order sewed on ) before heading out to tumbling.

She is so comfortable with sewing she turned on the iron, ironed her pieces, turned on the machine and had the 1/4 setting set before I made it back into the room from the kitchen where I told her okay.

She has sat there for 30 minutes chain sewing away.

I would rephrase that to you have been "blessed" what a delight to share your hobby with your daughter!

I don't know about that as she has taken over my sewing machine and table, which leaves mom watching and waiting.

She refuses to use my first sewing machine because it has no bells and whistles like the new one. No needle up/down, no cutter, just plain boring.

to funny! So glad she's into sewing, sorry she won't use your old machine :) Sounds like a good excuse to get another one ;)

That is great! I have to get my granddaughter going on a new quilt that I have cut out for her.

Um, I think this sound fabulous, and could be something I'd do.

I hope she'll share her creation when it's done.
