Hi Everyone,

It's official, I am a true quilter!!!! Today whilst changing the blade in my rotary cutter, I dropped the old blade. Logic tells you to let the blade drop to the floor, but instinct makes you grab it - and it slices into your thumb!!!!

Lots of bleeding and DH saying... 'do you need to go to the hospital as that is a lot of blood', and all that was going through my mind was the post I read earlier in the week when another quilter cut her finger.... and thinking to myself......'I'm a proper quilter now' LOL LOL LOL.

So I am here tonight with a heap of plasters on my poor thumb!

Hugs

Caroline

Welcome to the club. I tried to nip the tip off the end of one of my fingers!

Not a club to be in! LOL But I have contributed blood sweat and tears into my work many times over the years!! LOL Glad you aren't too maimed!! Wear your bandaids as a badge of courage!! LOL

My DIL succeeded in running the needle of the sewing machine down through her finger and had to go to the emergency room. She doesn't quilt much anymore.

I sewed right through my finger in class! I could not figure where the blood was coming from, there was a little spot on top of my finger, but how did blood get on the quilt? Turn the finger over, and there you go! I cannot figure how I sewed through the finger and did not break the thread. I guess it skipped the stitch in my finger.

Now you are really one of us. Funny how our brain knows not to do something but instinct runs deep. I'm glad you weren't hurt to bad.

I caught my finger with my sewing machine needle, jerked the finger back and broke the needle of perfectly so no piece showed on either side of the finger. You could see the eye of the needle on the xray!!
