I would have mistaken him for a finch as his beak does not look slender enough for an oriole..I'd better get back to "What Bird is That?"

we have lots of them here in MO, they love oranges and grape jelly, my neighbor even goes so far as to put orange juice in his oriole feeder. They are one of my favorites to watch.

I believe that is an orchard oriole. Do you have fruit trees around you anywhere? You may have a new resident.

I put fresh orange halves in one of those small wire cases that are made for suet. I use 2 oranges cut in 1/2. Two in each direction. Of course, depends on the size of the orange you use. A medium size fits well. They love them and pick them clean.
Our orioles have not arrived yet since in I am in Downeast Maine. They should be here any day now.

What a beautiful bird. It's a good thing my visitor didn't show up at the same time. Found this on my patio a few days ago.

Love your oriole!!!! I love all birds! They are so............much fun to watch. We have had 2 orioles so far, but they don't usually stay long before they continue north. Also saw a Rose-Breasted Grossbeck yesterday, tried to get a picture but he was very camera shy. We have a couple of robins nesting in the cedar tree that I can watch from the upstairs bedroom window. And a redbellied woodpecker who has a sweat tooth for the hummers' sugar water. Then there are the goldfinches... could go on and on as to the different birds but the list would get too long. Just enjoy all of them!!!

I feed birds of all kinds.

Our hummer feeds go out March 31 and come in Oct. 31.
We have a long hummer season.
