I made a frog cake!

You did a nice job, especially considering it's only your first cake. My first one didn't look nearly that good. Well done. You're right that next time you want a cake that isn't very moist. Moist ones fall all to pieces when you try to carve or do anything too intricate (don't ask me how I know that -- there was much cursing involved). I've also found that if you can let the cake sit for a bit before you try carving, it does better.

You should be proud of it. It turned out so good.
Just asking, the modeling chocolate is stiffer than fondant, is that why it would work better?
I love to watch Ace Of Cakes. To me, it's not as "set up" as Cake Boss. I also watch the Food Challenges and a few other cake shows that come on other stations late, late, but I can't think of their names. My bad!

It never occurred to me that one could do all that to/with a cake.
Wow! Is it edible?
My idea of overdoing it was getting a 9x13 box cake frosted with homemade frosting. (I don't like the stuff in the containers) (And my kids were doggone happy to get them, too!)
