In my new sewing studio, my computer and sewing machine are in an L-shaped configuration. This morning I rolled my chair from my sewing machine to the computer and searched with my foot for the foot pedal to start my computer up...wow. Had to laugh at myself when I realized what I was doing!

If you have a tablet computer, you know that to enlarge something, you touch 2 fingers to the screen and spread them apart. I caught myself doing that to printed text the other day. Didn't work worth a darn.

I do that often! My car and the truck are manual transmission. Since they are the vehicles I drive the most, I'm used to a standard trans. When I drive my 66 mustang or my husband's car which are automatics, I'm always trying to clutch and shift.Originally Posted by bearisgray

I also occasionally try to lower the needle on one of my vintage machines by tapping the foot pedal like I do on the Bernina.

That's great! When I learned to sew, my mother had a Singer 15-91 in a cabinet and the foot pedal was attached to the cabinet so you push your knee against the lever to make it sew. For years I couldn't figure out why I was always pushing my right leg into the leg of my sewing table. When she gifted the machine to me 30 years later it finally occurred to me.
