But then very nice too! I made a gift card holder for my son and put a note in it saying " there is a gift for you on the tree in a different colored ornament, good luck finding it.

Well, I rolled up some money and stuffed it in a blue ornament and hid it on the tree. It's the only blue one on my tree. I didn't say what color it was in the note and most of the ornies on my tree are handmade.
He will get a kick out of it!

How old is your son? My mom would do similar for all the grands every year, usually putting "something" inside an ornament she had either made, or purchased at a craft fair. They all looked forward to C'mas morniong to see what "cool" new ornament would be there this year. I am sure your son will have fun finding his treasure!!!!

He's 28. I stuffed it in a regular blue ornament with the tiny hole at the top. He should have fun getting it out! I like to be silly like that sometimes.

It doesn't matter how old they get, discovering treasure is always fun. Fun for me too!

I get a new ornament every year. The kids like to see if they can find it. This year it's the Nittany Lion- the mascot for Penn State.
