The first woman looks about 81 years old. Speaks volumes for healthy lifestyle. I would pick Lady #2 for her healthy looks. Just me.

Lady #1 has had substantial sun exposure, probably from her gardening, whereas lady #2 has not. Wear sunscreen.

I don't trust any "celebrities" that tell you how to keep young, etc. You know they have all had plastic surgery, not to mention professional makeup artists.

If #1 had a makeover she might be a better representative for her lifestyle. Just saying.

Funny! Thanks for the smile. Wonder how much Nigella works out so she can stay that slim...either that, or she has good genes.

Make up AND staying out of the sun!!! My little sis is only three years younger than I am, but has spent a LOT of time in th sun... even with sunscreen her skin appears significantly older than mine... and if I want her to know I said this, I'll tell her!! lol

I vote for picture 2. It does help that she has good genes and started out beautiful in the first place.

I see what 10 lbs. of Mary Kay cosmetics can do as well as a well aimed airbrush.........LOL

I think I would prefer to spend time quilting with Gillian than the other Lady.

Before drawing any conclusions, I'd like to see the first WITH a make-up artist . . . and the second WITHOUT one. The first picture was obviously taken outside, while the woman was working. The second is obviously a PR shot.

Inside ourselves regardless of what we eat, we all look like Nigella. Don't we?

Are you sure that you got their ages correct?? The first one looks 70 to 80 years old.

I found this interesting commentary on the whole situation
    http://blisstree.com/look/nigella-la...nd-beauty-633/

    to quote,

itís insinuated that attractiveness is a) the most important feature of women (above health), and b) a valid marker of someoneís overall health. They also assume that we should all be measured along the same standards of beauty (god forbid anyone actually find McKeith attractive because she doesnít have huge breasts or the facial features that have been idealized on film and tv), and they gloss over the fact that genetics play a big role in aging and attractiveness. Sound familiar? This isnít a far cry from the ridiculous weight and beauty standards promoted by advertising; both are aimed at whittling down a womanís worth and making her feel that her looks are more important than anything else.

right, it must be her lifestyle, not genetics..... BTW, the first photo was taken after 5 days in the Australian outback on a "Survivor" type show. I doubt any of us would look good in those circumstances.
