    Depends on the child. My oldest is autistic, and we had to watch him like a hawk for about the first 4 years we had our dog. He didn't understand that some things, like pinching the dog's ear between a pair of pliers, would hurt the dog.

    I think there is a special place in heaven for labs...

    So adorable. My kids were raised with dogs and have great compassion for animals. Love to watch children play with,not mistreat, animals.

    Wonderful video - love the laughter of a child!

    And I can just imagine the dog thinking that when the kid gets bigger and can throw farther, this early training will pay off!
