In situations like this, you HAVE to be persistent! I'm just counting my lucky stars that I was able to get the help.

This year I'll have to work my bum off so that I can get a scholarship from the school and so on!
My son's girlfiend was denied a grant, and had to drop the classes she was going to take thru the summer and then in the fall...she will go back to college in January after she has made some more money to pay for classes...She should be able to get some more aid because she has moved out of her mothers home and is on her own. She was only at home because her Mom is a widow and needed the extra income from the rent she paid her.
IF she is under 24 she still has to have her mom on the FAFSA... whether or not she lives with her... Once she turns 24 she'll be able to go with out her mom on the fafsa.

So either way (whether she lives with mom or not) she can apply as an independent. Wish I had that option! I have to wait a couple of years... She'll do great!

Wonderful - I am so happy for you. I can't think of anyone more deserving than you!
Edit: whoops - I thought Alu's July 13 msg was a new one, and that you received ANOTHER grant! I wish it was true!
