Default Internet Security Software help

My IS software is expiring soon and I have Kaspersky now and will be non renewable. What is a good one and hopefully a free one. I think I have used Avast before, but several years ago. Any help appreciated.

It will depend on what version of Windows your computer is running. You can Google "Free Anti-virus Software" and see what will work for you. There are loads of them. I have McAffee because it came on my laptop, but I've heard positive reviews on the native Windows AV software.

I used Norton Symantec Anti Virus and Malwarebytes. I've used them for years and never had a problem despite a lot of internet usage. However, Norton is not free. Malwarebytes does have a free version, but I'm not sure what the limitations on it are. Personally, I feel that a good security program is worth the expense.

I like AVG free. I've used it on every computer I've ever owned, and have never had a problem.

I've had Trend Micro for years with no problems. However, it isn't free. I've heard Windows Defender works well too.

I use Norton on my computer, yes it cost me an annual fee but I can use it on up to 5 devises (tablet, phone) so it is well worth the price.
