Hi everyone.

I have just lost all use of my computer (am using my mothers) due to a virus called suspicious. mystic.

I have anti-virus but it deleted my system instead of the virus and when I phoned my virus protection people (who I pay money for) they told me they couldn't help me because they couldn't access my computer- it just keeps restarting! Grrrr!

Very annoying. Just know that this virus is out there and back everything up. It deleted Windows Explorer (which is what makes the desktop be there- all my icons went and everything!) be careful and safe everyone.

Only good thing is I've made loads and will share with you when/if I get my computer up and running. May have to buy a new one. Sigh...

So sorry to hear of the virus attack. I am not familiar with that one and hope that the virus scan programers get it under control.

Oh so sorry. to hear of this. I know I was devastated when mine shut down. But, if you have a Staples in your area, call them and find out when they have their 'free' clean out and they'll take care of it for you. I get them to clean up my computer pretty often now. They are great!

Hope it never happens again. Blessings, Ruth

Mine did that awhile back and the young man brought it up in "safe mode" found the culprit, eliminated it and made me a backup file on one of my discs. Cost $35.00. If you can bring it up in "safe mode" he says you can run your virus protection and do it yourself.

Boot up the computer in safe mode and run a virus scan. I would not pay the virus company you use anymore money if they couldn't have told you to do this. The free virus programs work great. I don't pay for any virus, spyware, or malware programs. There are step by step instructions online how to remove the virus yourself when the computer is in safe mode.

Well I thought mine was a virus, but I'd been house cleaning and just dumped to many files and folders. But I learned that there was more to downloading a virus protection. THe put a thing on your desktop and I thought I was protected, but I found out I needed to activate it by clicking on it and following the instructions. I paid for it and didn't use it. I'm dumber than dirt sometimes. I just assumed it worked because it downloaded. Switch me with a big stick!
