Have not kept up with current Irish singers. Going back many years, our favorite is Tommy Makem and the Clancy Brothers. You tube has a tribute to Tommy Makem singing "Four Green Fields"

You can get a good selection from http://www.maggiesmusic.com/

They generally sell a sample CD for $6.30 USD.

My husband's grandmother turned us on to Celtic Women a couple of Christmas's ago with a PBS special; they did a concert at an Irish Castle. It was so moving; even today when I hear Chloe (yes, A New Journey is in my car's CD player), it brings a tear to my eye. We'd love to catch them at the Greek Theater one of these days. I saw an interview of the young man who wrote Caledonia - he was 19 yrs old when he wrote it, traveling with a couple of friends staying in a hostel. His friends went on with their journey but he returned home, to Caledonia, because he was homesick.

I like Irish music, but my dh is a freak about it. This weekend we are going to a concert to see a group called Cherish The Ladies at the Holland Center in Omaha, NE. We are dropping the kid off at grandma's and then going for a date night. Dinner and a concert! DH has heard them before, but I have no idea who they are. I guess I will be surprised! LOL I do like Celtic Women. I also saw their show on PBS.

I have one of their CD's, and saw them at the Dublin (Ohio) Irish Festival several years ago, they were really good.
