My DH is home...he is only home 1 full day a week so I LOVE when it's Saturday with him :)

Got to go watch our DGD who is 5, do a cheerleading session at a high school football game last night...made some great memories for all of us. Her dad just got deployed so we try to attend functions as much as we can.

I have a baby sleeping on my chest, a toddler playing on the floor and my loving husband sitting at the table. It's quiet...except for the noise from my toddler...and relaxed. My life may not be perfect, but it's pretty darn awesome. :)l
Thank you for reminding me to look around and see what I have.

Life is good. I am going to the church picnic this evening to play bingo for quilts. Going with a very young quilter I met at the LQS. We have fun together, even though there is about 30 years age difference! I am not her mother or grandmother, I don't judge, just encourage.

I'm happy to be hand quilting too... thanks to inspiration from Borntohandquilt...

But I'll never be as talented as she is... too global and not enough attention to detail, I suppose. I can still hear Momma saying, "Well, a man goin' by on horseback won't even notice..." I'm thinking I got my global outlook from her? :-D

The thing is, Borntohandquilt probably doesn't enjoy it more than I do... I'm lovin' every stitch!!! And, you know, they DO get smaller and closer together the more I practice!!

I stitched out on the patio this morning until I felt a little trickle of sweat down my back... that's when it was time to come in... and quilt at the kitchen table!! Even the dog was happy to come inside!!

Sometimes we have to back up and take a look at what is really important... all the running around and commitments aren't always necessary. I have bowed out of 3 groups that I was in..it just wasn't worth it and life changes and we need to re-evaluate. Then friends found out I had left other groups and wanted me to do this and that and I graiously said no thank you at this time. Now I actually have time to enjoy what I like my DH and quilting Oh and of course the grandson and getting ready for grandaughters arrival in Dec.

Had friends over yesterday, to play cards. Thank the good lord that we have been friends for anywhere from 53 yrs to 60 yrs. We had a great time. This A.M. I clipped our huge lawn, (Always thank the good lord I can still do it) I like that kind of work. And looking forward to the county fair to-morrow, DH wants to see the horse pull in the A.M. and I want to see the rodeo in the after noon. If we donate food to the needy, we get in free, what more would we want?
