WINTER POEM

I thought I'd pass along this funny poem for those Canadian quilters and for those from warmer climates who would like to get an idea of what it is like to live in this marvellous country. And a picture of the dog without his winter booties on...

It's winter in Canada !

And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At thirty-five below.
Oh, how I love Canada
When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave Canada
I'm frozen to the friggin' ground!

This little guy loved the winter, the snow, and the TLC he got after his walks. I kept a blow dryer handy and treats so that he would stand patiently and wait for relief. He was hysterical when we put his boots on. Walking like he was stepping on hot coals.

That is good, and the picture is precious! What is his name!

His name was Schooner. We no longer have him but he is still very much thought of and longed for. But he was the best little pal anyone could want. We took him everywhere because whenever we'd visit family and friends, we were always reminded to bring him.

Well, I don't live in Canada but your little poem sure fits for my corner of the Northeast of the U.S., right now.

That's a great picture of your little dog. My golden retrievers get snowballs too.

Actually, you are located farther north than I am, given your latitude and mine.
