I'm not sure where to post this. I am trying to find out any info about my sister in Joplin, she lives 1 mile northwest from St.Johns Med Ctr. Her Name is Cecilia Pamela Pickard. I have tried the Red Cross without any luck. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Have you tried the local police department. The hospitals will not give out that information due to the HIPPA law.

You might also contact the mayor's office or the Red Cross. Prayers that she is fine.

I've been listening to our Fox 4 news here in Kansas City. They have on their website.

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Joplin...13004115400930

They also list a phone number to check: 417-659-5464.

You can check with any of the local news websites and they all have info regarding the tornado.

Hope this helps!

Prayers to you and your family. It may take a while to get any information with the wide spread devastation and on-going storms. I believe the Red Cross will be your best advocate but it will take some time for them to get the information to you.

I know a girl that lives close to there that went to help (she's a nurse) and said the Red Cross # was not working last night...

I hope your sister is OK. I was lucky. I did hear from my brother, he and his wife was OK. They were not home when the tornado hit. After walking in about 3 miles, they found their home intact.

I live in Springfield, and our news outlets have asked that you call 211, and they will help you. Electricity is out as well as most of the cell towers in that area. I will check out local news outlets and see if there are other numbers and will post.
