I'm pretty much happy with the status quo at my house. That's why I live 'way out in the country' and have turned my living room into my sewing room. There's ONE comfy chair at my house and it's in front of the TV in the dining area. If you come by, bring food and expect to sit on a rolling chair and sew.

I understand the concept of cooking and cleaning,
just not as it applies to me.

I read recipes the same way I read science fiction -
I get to the end and think ........
    Well, that's not gonna happen!

I find it helps to categorize my chores:
    Things I won't do now.
    Things I won't do later.
    Things I'll never do.

There should be support groups for women who can't put their dishes in the dishwasher dirty.

Maxine taught me this lifestyle and I thank her for it!

I went to my family reunion Saturday. The talk is of having it in the state park blocks from my house next year. That means some non-campers would be thinking of staying here. Don't they know I gave up housework and my two extra bedrooms are full of fabric? I did the same thing to my family room you did to your living room and I love it.

I love my family, but the concept just mentioned strikes terror in my heart.

Good for you on doing it your way!

I agree with you Jan. My sewing machine and cutting table are in my livingroom. Took out the kitchen table for my used Tin Lizzie and frame. My guestroom is so full of my stash in bins that company can probably find the bed. It's my house and I'll use it as I please.

You are all girls after my heart. My spare bedroom is now my fabric storage room, I quilt in the living room so I can watch TV and spend time with DH and the dining room table has more than one WIP (or UFO) which ever you want to call it. ;) Anyway, I am three years away from retiring, DH is retired, the kids are all grown.....so I figured I would rather quilt than spend time picking up the clutter all the time. When it starts to take over, DH and I break away from our fun projects and spend time doing the deep clean thing, then we go back to the fun stuff. We figure we deserve it.
