I am almost 48 and got my black belt in taek won do not too long ago. It took me about 2 years to get it. It is very helpful in keeping my limber and some what in shape. I shutter to think where I would be at without that excercise. I also feel empowered and more confident because of my self denfense skills. I think you are at a great age to do it and it seems the instructor is supportive. Go and have fun and get in shape. Oh I have medical issues, joint and muscle and I am fat. Like some one mentioned, stretch and go at your own pace. You will get better over time. Can't wait to hear how it went. I can tell you sometimes I hated it so much I cried out of frustration. My form is not great but I cary a nasty kick.
