So this afternoon I'm home with the 18 year old and the 8 year old. I was really tired after staying up late chatting with someone on here who shall remain nameless.:) I decided to lay down and watch some TV for a while.

Apparently I fell asleep for a power nap. I woke up a short time later and went downstairs to switch the laundry again. As I walked into the kitchen I realized something was wrong. Ever get that feeling??? I couldn't put my finger on it at first. Then I realized. The entire kitchen was covered in this fine sheen of white powder. There was some on a few of the counters but it was all over the kitchen floor as well as it had been tracked to the back door and the garage door.

I open the garage door and it looks like a snowstorm just on the other side of the door. My mind is still in a fog and I just cannot place what the heck is going on.

I call my 18 year old down and he pretty much has the same reaction as I do. Neither of us have a clue.

So I call the 8 year old down. "Oh, yeah, Mom. A bag of flour fell on the floor but it's okay because I cleaned it up." I questioned him on just how he cleaned it up and he showed me both the trash can FULL of wet kleenex balls AND the broom. He wiped up what he could and swept the rest into the garage.

And then, because he did his "clean up" in his sock feet, he managed to track it both to the back door AND all the way up the stairs to the playroom.

But it's OK because he cleaned it up:)

Anyone know how to remove flour concrete from tile grout??? ;)

    Gotta love those kids!!!!

Sounds like my entire house... except mine is drywall dust! LOL I've been cleaning for 3 days! Today, I cleaned off the tv, wiped off all the dvds, washed down the shelves in the entertainment center, and then when mopping the wood floor, I looked up and the entertainment center was all dusty again!! grrrrr Will I ever get all the dust cleaned up? Probably just in time to drywall the next room!! LOL

I think that "kids" and "thought process" is an oxymoron. I fear you will have to scrape that flour paste away.

Apply a very wet rag or sponge and turn it to glue? I do love the fact that he tried to clean it up and didn't wake you up!

It's funny because as soon as he told me what it was I burst out laughing....in his little mind he took care of everything...........as he walked away my 18 year old said "boy I'm sure glad it's YOU here that found that and not Dad" ;) I was just so grateful that it wasn't powdered sugar!!!

Oh well, accidents happen. Sounds like you have a couple of good kids. That is the important thing. And getting it out of the grout, LOL.

Me too!! Re-doing family room down stairs. Have door closed. Door didn't stop the dust from going up stairs! We do spackeling in 3 intervals...spackel sand, spackel sand, spackel sand... what a mess!

Me too, except mine is dust from removing those nasty "popcorn" ceilings. Dust everywhere!

Do gotta love the intent of the little guy. He tried.

Girl we are on the same wavelength today! I put the baby down for a nap, threw a DVD in for the two older ones and fell asleep on the couch. I woke up to my oldest wearing different clothes. Hmmmmm. He had an "accident" before reaching the toilet but unlike your child, mine did not attempt to clean anything up. In fact, he left his wet underwear in the middle of the living room floor. Oh the joys of children. :P

If you put it on a thin coat at a time and smooth it with a wide putty knife, building up 3 or 4 coats and allowing them to dry in between, all you have to do is go over it with a large damp (not wet) sponge and avoid all that sanding and dust.

She ate a pice of pie I was about to take a picture of wile I was geting bateries...(I took the picture anyway it is cuite)she rolled in mud at grandmas house, and needed a bath after helping pick blueberries.she is sleaping now so I think she is done with baths for the night. Tresure this and add every moment you are stuned over to the photo album so you can show there kids what they were really like....

That's soo funny!! When my son was little and he had a bath I always would put baby powder on him. Well, one day we had a fish fry, flour, cornmeal, etc. After dinner, before clean-up, went into FR to relax for a couple of minutes. Realized I hadn't seen son. Went into kitchen and he was about 1 1/2yrs at this time. He somehow got the flour bag down and was sitting in the cornor rubbing flour all over him. It was absolutely everywhere!!!  I gave bath while ex-H got the shop vac!! What an ordeal!!  Still can picture this!!

Give up. Give up now. Two years later and I am still cleaning up drywall dust from our remodel. Still mad at DH for not springing for the negative pressure system.
