Red face Kindle Fire

My kids got me a Kindle Fire for Christmas and I have been having alot of fun with it. I can get my email on it and can also send emails. I have been looking at the books and I know that I can get some that are free, but can't seem to find what I need to get into for them. My husband said that I'm getting to be a real techy, ha ha, just know enough to get around. Guess you can teach an old dog new tricks since I'm old.

My duaghter has the Kindle and I think you have to have an account set up she has it thru Amazon her fiance bought it for it there and had it all set up so maybe that's what you have to do. I don't know much about them but I know she loves her it's so convient to take with her to work she's a book worm since she was a little kid. Goog luck. Sue

If you ever bought something from Amazon, you already have an account set up. Just sign in and type "Free" in the search box under "Kindle Store". I think there are over 30,000 free books. Lots of them are older books and classics, but there are lots of others, too. You don't have to have a Kindle to read them. You can download a "Kindle for PC" to your computer and read them on it. This book is on there for free right now. "Quilts Their Story and How to Make Them by Marie Daugherty" Good Luck and enjoy.

There is also an app I found - Jagamaga. It was free and you can download free talking books. Mostly old ones, but I have been having fun with it so far!

I am pretty sure you can get an app that allows you to "borrow" books from you local library, if they offer that service. I plan on exploring that next.

This site lists all free Kindle/Nook books everyday: http://www.pixelofink.com/category/free-kindle-books/ I just finished an exellent fun light read:Charlotte Figg Takes Over Paradise. It was free for a day and now it cost $9.68 You never know what will be free one day to the next.

There is a Kindle forum called Discussions that answers every question about using a Kindle. It's listed in the upper right in the Kindle Book section at Amazon.

Kindle Fire has a shorter battery life then the other Kindles. I turn off Wi Fi when I'm not downloading or going online and it extends the battery life much longer. Lots of tips like this on Kindle Discussions.
