I've made those and even the "worms and dirt" ones. They are fun to watch the faces of people when they see them.

Tootsie rolls are a chewy candy.....kind of chocolate flavor (but cheap to buy)

My sister made one of those for Thanksgiving last year. After you got past the yuck factor, it was really good. Yours is awesome.

Tootsie rolls are chewy chocolate "rolls" or like little logs. Heres a link:

They are really good. To get the effect you soften them in a microwave for about 5 seconds and shape!

I'm learning heaps this week....I saw a flowerpot with "dirt" cake inside and a couple of silk flowers for added realism....now "kitty litter"...whatever next! Very realistic....very weird....you must be pretty good friends to be able to get away with this one! I'm going to have to show my boys this one!

I LOVE it!!!! How do you make it?

I've done the dirt dessert and freaked out one of my girlfriends when I dipped into the pot and took a bite. She thought I was actually eating dirt.

There are tons of recipes online. But basically you need a BRAND NEW Litter box and scoop. Make a chocolate box cake and a white box cake, and a box of jello no-cook vanilla pudding. Coarsely break the cakes up together in the pan and mix with the pudding.

Take a dozen or so vanilla sandwich cookies and pulse in a food processor till coarse crumbs. Divide in half and put a drop or two of blue food coloring in one, and a drop of green food coloring in the other. Sprinkle over the top of the cake to make it look like sand/litter.

Take some tootsie rolls, unwrap, and microwave for about 5 seconds to soften. Shape. Don't forget the one draped over the side. Add the scoop and serve!

Be sure to have a camera handy!
