Default Lamp switch repair

The lamp's original switch refused to stay on any longer. It was one of those you mash down on to turn on and off. So my husband took it out to the shop and wired up a new one. Replaced the button with a toggle switch and he put it in a tin I washed out. I used Velcro to hold it in place on the table.

While he was "operating on it, my husband added about a foot of extra wire on it so the lamp switch would be in a more comfortable position.

This is the lamp, it puts out quite a lot of light for such a small bulb, perfect for reading.

I discovered a table top version:

That is about the best lamp switch I've ever seen. Just too cute, useful and whimsical. What a guy your husband must be!

Neat! Don't you love having a handy DH?

I love those Jansjo lamps, they have great little goosenecks on them. I have two of them on my Janome's table.

That is marvelous! So creative on both your parts.

I have 2 of the Ikea lamps - now just have to hope the switches go out. Might give them a little help - LOL
