    A late Valentine's Day present

I had a bad cold the week leading up to V Day, and had no interest in finishing up the present for my wife. But now, it is done. She loves Hello Kitty and I saw this on the Red Tag rack at Joann's. It's like a one-sided Minky, I think they call it Soft and Comfy. I used McCall's pattern 5902.

After the photo was taken, I also made a matching cover for the headrest.

Isn't that so pretty. I am sure she loves it, and loves you for making it for her. You did a great job on it.

put off till tomorrow what you can do today, and if you procrastinate long enough, you may never have to do it.

That is so talented of you Tate to make that for your wife. Yes, there is a nasty illness going across the country.

Cute - You mentioned that it is like a one sided Minky. I have a silly question for any and all, I have never sewn on Minky before, is there a special needle or thread that needs to be used when sewing with Minky fabric?

I don't know about regular Minky (I made a mistake earlier, it's actually spelled Minkee), but for this I had to use a stretch needle. Singer 500s (aka Rocketeers) were designed before knits were popular for home sewing and can have trouble with them. Using the stretch needle (not ballpoint) and a walking foot really helped.
