Default Lazy Daisy Hand Weaving Tool

Is anyone familiar with this weaving method? My friend recently found this gadget among her mother's belongings. It is used to make daisies for tablecloths and other items. Thank you so much.

I remember these. You wound the yard around the spokes, sewed the daisy , then retracted the spokes by twisting the knob and the flower/daisy would pop off. They were quite the "rage" at one time.

I remember using that as a child! Never made enough daisies for an afghan, though. You had to sew the daisies together.

I had one of those. Mine had a post (for lack of a better word) in the center that turned and you could hang onto as you wove the yarn over it and then pop the flower off. Not sure what happened to mine. Probably gave it away. Hadn't thought about it for years.

That looks cool. I've never seen one before ('cause I'm so young LOL).

OMG I kind of remembered this gizmo. then remembered where I have it. And it is the same as the one in the video except that there are no slits on the bottom. I even have some very old xerox copies of a pattern for an afghan. And I ordered it in June 1970 from Family Circle Magazine. Such memories!!!!

Thanks, everyone, especially Thimblebug for the link. This website should keep my friend happy (and busy) for a long time.
I had googled weaving, knitting, etc. I'm glad to find some help.

I had the plastic version and used to make flower 'bows' for gifts, with it. Wonder if I still have it . . . .
