With two grands here almost every day, they go through a lot of bananas. They love Banana Swirl. Freeze pieces of bananas then pulse in blender with a little coconut milk. If any get too ripe I make mini banana pancakes and freeze those. I put peanut butter between two for a great snack for the boys.

Thanks for the tip. We have fruit trees and I will remember that when they get ripe; it's impossible to eat them all in 1 day and hopefully this tip will help me keep from freezing so many.

You can also freeze bananas for bread. I have done this if they are on sale & they aren't going to be eaten in time.

Also, if you buy a green avocado and put it in a paper bag with an apple the avocado will ripen overnight

I use aluminum foil also and no it doesn't matter what side wraps to the inside. We've gotten used to brown bananas, at first they were a little off putting. I take them out of the fridge when I make the coffee so they get room temp by the time we eat breakfast. I don't like them cold. We use the "monkey" method of peeling them, have taught our grandkids to do it that way. So much easier for them than breaking the top part back.

iI hate really ripe bananas unless they're frozen and in a milk shake. I peel 'em and wrap in a sandwich baggie & throw in freezer. They're ready for some almond/coconut milk & the blender. Mummmm good. We used to own a fast food resturant and when we had too many I would peel, roll in chopped nuts, then wrap & freeze. Makes a good treat.

actually putting bananas in the fridge is where they belong. I also read on health food page that they are packed with more nutrients when they are like you make banana bread with. I like bananas.
