You know every year its a panic over some type of flu. How many years now have we been hearing about all these bad flus that will strike this year and never do? I think its just hype.

I somewhat agree. I do think they try to scare people so they will get more shots. Drug company monopoly maybe?? But I do know that many do get sick and possibly die sometimes. Sucks all the way around. :(

What sort of worries me is that they start hyping these things so often, that we'll get to a point where we just kind of ignore them-if the big one ever does come, we'll fall into it because of all the previous hype. I never bother with a flu shot. . .even though the media hypes doom day from some strain almost every year. . .

I never do flu shots. a few years back several of the kids and I came down with the flu (and there was no doubt that it was flu!) while at my inlaws for Christmas. It hit hard and fast. They did their best to get us to go to the ER....dh loaded us up and brought us home. A week in bed, another recovering and we were all fine.

If it isn't one thing it's another.
I can't get the flu shot so I will be one of the first to go if there really ever is an epidemic. I try not worry about these things.

I had a flu shot once, I was sick in bed for 2 months after. I am not a sickly person and would rather take my chances with the flu.
