My "salad spinner" is a drawstring net lingerie bag. Wash your lettuce, basil, spinach, etc. and stick it in the bag. Go outside and twirl it around. This spinner doesn't take up any cabinet space!

Today I gathered lots of sandy basil. I put it in a pan of water and stemmed it, putting the leaves in a bowl. Then I fitted the lingerie bag over the bowl and dumped the basil into the bag. I washed it again in clear water and then spun it around. Perfect!

When my daughter was younger, she was mortified about this. I live out in the country now and only my dogs see me spin salad.

I live in the country, too cannot see the neighbors, but I am sure they hear us! I love to take my dogs outside, and we "sing". It makes Earlene's coonhound howl, too, then I can hear her yell at the dog. I am easily amused.

In the evenings the coyotes join in too, then I take myself and the chihuahuas into the house if they are close. Sometimes they are in the woods RIGHT behind the house, (150 feet) eek, my beloved dogs.

Out here too. My bulldog, who is 50 some lb. is terrified to go out at night due to the coyotes. I literally have to drag the poor girl out, then she RUNS back in.you can tell she is listening to them. They do sound scarry sometimes when youre out alone!
