I have heard of it but live on the west coast.
A Good Friend, like an old quilt, is both a Treasure and a Comfort
I've heard of it too -- just live too far away!
I am leaving in the morning for 2 days of it, will start in Gadsden and travel north. no set destination, but I really like the Dogtown, to Mentone Al area. Also 80% chance of rain Fri and Sat. ugh.
This sale is fascinating, wish I could attend some day. If any QB members get there pls post what quilts or quilt-related goodies you found. If possible, give us some photos. Not nearly as good as being there but fun to see who scores. Wish all of you that will be there good luck, good weather and lots of bargains.
I live in Dunlap,Tn.five minutes to walk to 127. Folks starting setting up Monday here, renting sections of their yard, garages etc.Driving is terrible tho, takes one hour to drive quarter mile! I did find a old nee hi sewing machine for ten bucks that worked.Only complaints last year was NO bathrooms.
I did it 2 years ago with my sisters we had so much fun they are both well versed in rusty junk and antiques I just love to browse and drool.....had to be careful since I flew in and out. I would do it again in a heartbeat we are talking about next year.
my little advice if you ever want to go is plot it out and make hotel or camping reservations well in advance carry paper towels and wet ones for clean up, be ready for a rainstorm or two and trust me they will be welcome I don't remember having issues finding bathrooms. We learned to not stop at all the individual houses if they were displaying clothes or kid stuff not what we look for and we wouldn't have made it more than 10 miles.

This sounds like something I would really enjoy. Yes, let us know what you buy-pictures would be great.
I live near it - have never been and don't plan on going! I stay away from the whole mess!!!

I have been on the longest yard sale many times and just love it. Have bought some wonderful quilts down there.
we have something similar to that in Texas. It called "Antique Alley". It is held twice a year, once in April and again in October. It is very short compared to your's. It runs from Glenview to Cleburn Texas and it is as three day event.

I will miss it...I use to live real close to Rt. 127 when I lived in Tennessee...
I live close enough that I could make a day of it and go down there--but not this year. I have to work in the local county fair, and that just fills my day completely up, plus the yard sale is about an hour's drive from here. My sister is set up somewhere down there, and says she is doing well with what she has for sale.
Make every day count for something!

I've done this once, tons of fun!![]()
Friends are the most important ingredient in the recipe of life.
I live on 127 in Kentucky and have been many times but not this year.
