I guess I should consider myself lucky. We have huge Eukalyptus trees on the property and every year we have a nesting pair of raptors. One year it's red-tailed hawks and one year it's Great Horned Owls.

One year a baby owl fell (or jumped) out of the nest and hopped over to our sliding glass door. We took him in and I fed him raw chicken with chop sticks. The next morning we took him in a cat carrier to the raptor center in Davis. Since then, we learned that the bird moms will feed their babies even outside the nest. Now, when a young one falls out or tries to fly too early, we set them in a make-shift platform. The momma bird always watches what we are doing to the little one.

It's kinda funny, but we always talk to the momma. We remind her that we are SAVING her baby and that she in turn needs to leave our cats alone. So far so good.
