I recently purchased a serger , not a very expensive one because I am not to sure if I would use it very often, so I have been looking for tutorials and projects that use Sergers If you have a link please post. I have watched some you tube. Thank you

I took a Craftsy class called 'Beginning Serging' with Amy Alan and I learned a lot. Those classes are on sale a lot so don't pay full price!

I have a brother 1034D (not expensive fancy model) that I have used a lot, very recently. I looked at several you tube videos and propped my iPad up next to the serger and practiced. You might try putting in your exact model and see if anyone posted a video about them regarding projects or threading. Google too is your friend.

I learned how to use mine by serging the cut edges of material before washing. I had bought it at auction so no accessories or manual. By serging the edges, I learned about the tension and threading. I don't even need the online manual anymore to thread it. It developed a horrible squeak so I tore it apart, oiled anything that moved against each other and fixed it. It still works! It had a lot of felt oil points that had gotten dry. Yes, just jump in and go for it!

I've only sewed seams and edges with mine. I have a babylock imagine that's an air threader, it's at the repair shop b/c i haven't used in it about 12 yrs.

Craftsy has at least two teachers Amy Alan and Angela Wolfe who teach serger classes and they are great. I google classes and pull up more than if I just search you tube. There are several great teachers and free classes out there.
i guess the only way is to just jump in and go for it!.
