I wanted to make one for my nephew for christmas and wasn't sure what fabric to use or how to make it as a gift.

BTW, the pillowcases came out great.

I also saw your question about the third one. it looks nice but maybe a little more contrasting middle (piping) fabric would be even better like a medium brown? Love the horse fabric
The pink one I will give a book with it and the horse one will have a toy car with it. They all have sheets and I thought to have their very own pillowcase would be neat. I used cotton fabric .
After seeing the picture on here I will use a medium brown for piping. Thank you very much for looking.
I bought the horses at Walmart. They really have a nice selection of fabric now.
Thanks for the ideas. My DBIL loves the Yankees so I am considering making a Yankee pillowcase for his son. I was trying to brainstorm as to a gift to go with it.

They will love the cases.. I made my DD & family cases for Christmas last yr. Thinking of doing more this year too. I just use a neutral color for the cases, and add embroidery to the cuff part, or a pretty print that goes w/her decor. I've made my grandkids little cases for their pillows, and square ones for their couch pillows. There's so many ways to do them... Enjoy..... Your cases are really nice..

I've got to make 2 pair tomorrow. One pair for a coworker of dd's who's going to college and the other pair for another coworker who just redecorated her bedroom. I just love the kids at Starbucks! I'm the store mom, and I love it!!

I made four last night. The kids found more soccer and volleyball fabrics. They must have at least 4 or 5 in those fabrics alone. I make them for all holidays, a birthday one, to match their sleep pants that I make for Christmas or the sleep shorts I make for summer. The occasions are endless. We all go to the beach for vacation and every year they get a new "beach" pillowcase. Before long they could put a different one on their pillow each week for a year. LOL
