Karla, it is such a beautiful thing that you do. I admire you and the horses for it.

Amazing Mazie!!! We fell in love with her the day she was born, and she is still the bestest baby.

I want to be in that nursing home when I am old and grey.

Wow, what a wonderful thing to do. So unselfish and rewarding.

    Kudos Karla.

Well--it's not a nursing home--it's an assisted living place. Some of the folks have their own cars and drive about independently, but not many.
There are two others around me in other directions--all are about 20 minutes away. I'm hoping to add to out calendar...but don't want to stress Mazie out. I need to see what other horses would enjoy it. I'd love to take two at a time!

I get as much out of it as they do--it gives me something to do with the horses!

Actually--this turned out to be a disappointment. Kandy was written up for a health/safety violation by the Executive Director. She asked for article/photos of mini horses inside hospitals/nursing homes, etc and I sent her many. She was hoping to show the Regional Manager the articles to get the write up removed, but the RM wouldn't even look at the articles. Wow. Kandy wants to look for another job. She said it really has nothing to do with Mazie, it's more the ED has never liked her. Such a bummer. Kandy is shocked--especially after how excited the residents were at this event.

However, I've called another assisted living facility about Mazie visiting and hope to hear back. If need be, I'll take her in the spring and summer and stay outside... but that's missing out on the folks who don't come out.
