She said it really has nothing to do with Mazie, it's more the ED has never liked her. Such a bummer. Kandy is shocked--especially after how excited the residents were at this event.

However, I've called another assisted living facility about Mazie visiting and hope to hear back. If need be, I'll take her in the spring and summer and stay outside... but that's missing out on the folks who don't come out.
Oh, poor Kandy and Karla! I think she should gather her documentation and file a formal grievance against the write up. She had already checked that it wasn't a violation, how could the ED arbitrarily decide it was? And if the ED could see the faces in the photos, or if the residents let her know that it was great..... Ooooh, now my blood is boiling on yours and Maizie's and Kandy's behalf. I abhor petty, dictatorial little worms like that!!! (Can you tell I've had to deal with a few? :hunf: )

I love the pictures, and am shocked that Kandy was written up after doing the research that it was ok. I don't like the Napoleon attitude of some people. Health inspectors used to come in to our school and search out a tiny out of the way area to find an infraction! It boils me when that happens. I hope you continue your mission with Maizie, and that Kandy is vindicated!

Karla, I missed your Mazie story the first time around---but was so happy to see it today. You are such a dear to take the time to share your mini with the residents. I can see how much they enjoyed the visit.

And now I am sorry to read about the administration's reaction to this visit. Some people just don't get it!

The ED was there--he's in the photos... at least I think that's him. He hasn't been there for long--last Valentine's Day the ED who was there--a fabulous fellow--was murdered, along with his wife, in their home, with her two children in the house. This guy is his replacement.

If Kandy leaves, I don't know what will become of their summer visits. I worked hard to fine the ramp and cargo liner and to train Mazie...so I hope we can still do this somewhere. I want to work with the other horses, too, to see how this jobs matches best, besides Mazie.

Oh yes--he murdered four people that day. Horrid. He killed the husband (the children's step-father) right away, and waited two hours in the home before he killed the woman. Nothing like we could ever imagine. The daughter testified (such a brave soul--just a young teen)and he has two life sentences so far. The first two were in another county, so the court proceedings there are going on now. The son--is a 6th grade in a wheelchair with severe disabilities... wonderful boy. Their lives will never be the same.

I am stunned to hear about the Ed and the murders! I hope the problems with the ED can be resolved and the visits continue!
