You usually have so many hours or days to back out. Contact the lawyer immediately!

I think your lawyer should be able to find out if its official or the decision is final. Also you need to mention to your lawyer if you are willing to settle or fight it out. If you do not want to settle, the lawyer has no right to offer them anything.
