Just wondering as I was darning some socks for DH last night - does anyone else still darn socks here?

I always have and figure if darning a sock can get another few months use out of it, I might as well.

I really find it strangely comforting and relaxing to do.

    Anyone else darn?

I do. The socks my husband wears for work are 11.00 a pair so can't afford not to.

Yep, that's what I do, actually have ten pairs that way, that I plan on replacing today.

I darned some of DH's expensive hunting socks and did a really good job, I thought. He said he appreciated it but he could feel the repair when he wore the socks and it bothered him. I wear them around the house and they sure are soft and warm. So they are getting a second life.

I still do, mine & hubby's. I have done them by candle light when power went out one time, couldn't do anything else. :-)
