We closed on our home in Nebraska today and got the first of at least 15 trailer loads unloaded!! We are now watching the BB game and relaxing after a long and hot day. (one of the first things we moved was our futon so we could stay overnight.)

This will be a work in progress for the entire summer so no sewing will be done. Walls to paint and lawns to mow, and the homes are 4.5 hours apart. Plus a trip to California for a beach wedding, a wedding in ND, a wedding in Iowa and a family reunion in Nebraska so it will be some play also. I will be lurking around in quiet moments so keep the pictures of the WIPs coming. :-D :-D

Congratulations! Hopefully my husband and I will be doing likewise in the next 30 - 45 days. Our house goes into escrow tomorrow (sold one - bought one) but they are 10 hours apart. Thinking we may hire a moving company - we're too old for this stuff anymore. So there may be little sewing in the next couple of months for me too. Going to have to do some moving sales in the meantime. Good luck, during your busy summer, stay safe on the roads and remember to take some breathers too!

How exciting to be going to a new home, but I can't imagine all the packing and unpacking to be done.

Just think, once it is done, how nice it will be.

    Have a toast on me!

I feel your pain and your joy! Only the best wishes for you and yours. Stay safe and rest yourself every now and then. You can always tell hubby "Let's take a break, I don't want you to wear yourself out". LOL.
    Regards, Dorothy

Wow, have fun getting everything moved.

Will you have a big sewing room at the new house?

Well, I'm going from a 7x10 to a 12x15! But that has to accommodate my Fun Quilter also. The good thing about the room I picked, besides lots of sunlight, is the double depth closet which my hubby will be building lots and lots of shelves in. Below are 2 pics of my sewing room now, will show more later when I get settled. September, maybe?!!LOL

Good for you to have a bigger sewing room in the new house. House looks really nice. Lucky you.

I am also moving - started about a month ago and will probably be working at it for the rest of the summer as I am having to work also - job starts at new location next Saturday. DS will be moving to college at the end of summer so will be getting him ready and then DH will be joining me probably toward the end of summer. I sure do wish I had been moving back when the weather was cooler!!

Not only claimed but decided to keep the lavender color as it is supposed to an inspirational color!

I painted a glossy black wall very, very white today with lots of primer! The neon green wall is also white after 3 coats and I'm putting on a blue that I have here at our old house and love the color. Next is our beige master, it will be a soft pink as it is one color both of us love!

Our son is coming over to help load some heavy pieces of furniture Thursday and than we are taking that load out on Friday.
