Prayers are heading north, Sherry! Do you want me to make a miniature quilt for him?

We had a preemie GS this summer, too. He started out at 4# 11 oz which made him over 3x the size of your precious one. Rainn will keep on growing and catch up to the rest of the crowd way too fast.

Congratulations! He is so precious! That brings memories to me 40 years ago, my first child was born on August 1st, 1971. She weighed in at 3 lbs. 15ozs. and was just a little of 2 months early. They are so tiny. Unfortunately, we lost her in 1989 in an automobile accident! She was 17 going on 18. Enjoy every moment you can with them! Thanks for sharing the wonderful miracle!

FloPierce and Tartan--I was tickled to hear of your stories. You both reminded me of my aunt born in 1915. MD told G'ma the same that she wouldn't make it, but G'ma wrapped her in cotton, put her in a shoe box and warmed her with the overn. Perserverence by G'ma, the tenacious auntie lived a long life.

He is cute and tiny now....but watch out, before you know it he will be towering over you and have to bend down to give Nana a kiss and hug!

My son was just like that too, and now he is 42 and a big ole guy.

Wishing you and your family the best,

My grandson weighed 3 pounds at birth. He is now eighteen and nearly 6 foot tall. Hang in there.

My oldest son was born weighing only 3lbs 7 1/2 ozs with two birth defects and kidney disease. He was not a premature baby but was underweight for a full term baby. The Dr's called it Interuterine Growth Retardation. At age 35 now he still weighs under 100 lbs. Underage girls (teeny bopper age ) are always asking him to go out with them and he tells them no.
It has been this way since he was in his early 20's.
