My Baby Girl found a Baby Deer hiding under a picnic table....TOO SWEET!!!

I think fawns are the sweetest looking babies out there.
Does will place their fawns in a safe (to them) place and leave them while they forage for food. If anyone finds a fawn alone, it is usually best to take a "watch and see" approach before disturbing or "rescuing" the baby. The majority of the time the mother will return for her baby. If in doubt, you can always call a wildlife rescue/rehab facility for advice (many hotline numbers can be found online). Obviously, if the fawn is in danger from traffic, dogs or other hazards, you would want to keep it safe. Sadly, many fawns become orphaned unnecessarily each spring because well meaning people think they are abandoned and "rescue" them.

For several years, we had a doe that would bring her twin fawns into our front yard and the fawns would rest under the tree next to our deck.
They haven't been around for about 3 years... I miss my deer.. :(

What a wonderful picture, so sweet. However, I do need to share this. A couple my dog was out doing her business one morning in our yard (we live in the woods) and I think she got too close to where a mama deer had her baby, and the mama deer attacked my dog and tore her up pretty bad. She was beating her with her front hooves. It was the scariest thing I have ever seen.
