so excited never had a girl in the family so many new things I can make for her. Altho there are some problems with the pregnancy the placenta is mildly detached. I really wonder if I should start making the girly stuff or wait to make sure all goes well.

You didn't say how far along your DIL is in her pregnancy. I'd wait awhile.
But - congratulations, I just received my first grandchild too, a big boy.

You will also be able to make cute little clothes for girls. Much more fun than sewing for boys.

Congratulations, and prayers for a healthy pregnancy and delivery! You should sew whatever you want. If things were to turn out differently then you can always give as gifts.

Congratulations! Our first grandchild was a girl....15 years ago. I was a very young grandmother.
