OMG! My Shih Tzu, Baxter, does the same thing! When he wants your attention (for any reason), he just sits up on his backside and stays there until you pay attention to him, or give him a treat!!! Our other Shih Tzu doesn't do that though, her attention span isn't that long! ;)
