My hands have been cramping for at least a month. I have tried everything that I know to stop them from cramping. Mostly around fingers and knuckles. Drinking lots of water, different creams, heat..would like to know if any one has this problem and what did you do to stop them from cramping. Thank you all for help.

Have you had your potassium levels checked? My gram always got cramps in her legs and would eat bananas..She was also a big fan of Black Strap Molasses and apple cider vinegar. Always helped her... =)

I workout at a gym four times a week and when I do the weights my hands will cramp the next day. Have you been doing any chores or activities that you are putting more exertion in your hands then before? Gardening, washing windows, etc?

Certain medications also make your muscles cramp...if you take anything ask your doctor...and it could be potassium too..

I use paraffin wax and the heat really feels great when my muscles are sore...

My husband eats at least one banana a day to keep up his potassium levels to avoid leg cramps.

If it's around the joints it could be arthritis.

If you're low on potassium bananas are good; also kiwi and avacado.

Make yourself a couple of microwave mitts. Do you have any pure lavender, or lavendar oil? Place your hand on a piece of newspaper. Trace around it keeping the thumb close to your fingers. You're going for the general size and shape. Next, add an 1 1/2" for ease all around and seam allowance. Find a scrap piece of fabric and cut a top and bottom left hand and a top and bottom right hand. You'll need a double layer of fabric for the top and bottom linning fabric. Place two layers of the lining on top of the wrong side of the fabric for top then next comes the bottom (right side facing the right side of the top) then two more layers of linning. Stitch around and turn. Treat 2 cups of dry rice with 10 drops of lavender oil, or use dried lavender about 1/4 cup. Dibide the mixture into fourths and put and equal amout into each side of the mitts. Top stitch the ends shut. Microwave on high for 45 sec. Slide hands into mitts and relax. The rice can be reheated many times. Just don't heat it too long at any one time or you'll burn it.
