Oh goodness me, I'm jealous. I wish some of my brick walls could be breached. Can't get further back on my 3rd GGGGF. And having a problem with the Heyman/Hyman/Heiman family of Texas. Oh well, I sure am pleased to see somebody hit the genealogy jackpot.

I was doing some research in a library in Alabama some years ago. They had newspapers bound in books. The one I wanted to look at, the paper was coming off in little flakes. I had opened the cover and saw what was happening, just put it back in place on the shelf. Wonder why the library didn't conserve those old papers?

Do you belong to Ancestry.com? I've found a ton of stuff there, along with Rootsweb.com. The biggest and first find was in google, though! I put my grandmother's name in quotes, and her birthyear (a guess) and up she popped!

People don't have the respect for old things. Example are the buildings they tear down and replace with new "better" buildings. I like old stuff......

I've recently renewed my subscription to Ancestry. I also have found lots of info, but I always document what I find with official records. I've found lots and lots of errors. One has to be very careful. Just because it's there doesn't mean it's right.

what great family treasures! Especially the pages from the Bible and marriage certificates!

I have two purses just like this one! They belonged to my mother-in-law's mother. One is green and the other is a multicolor. Maybe they're older than I thought.
